Inauguration of Deer Park Shed for Senior Citizens

Shri Ajay Maken, Union State Minister for Urban Development inaugurated a Senior Citizens shed at Deer Park, near Hauz Khas, New Delhi on Sunday, the 1st June, 2008 for the use of Senior Citizens Council of Delhi in which 500 Senior Citizens can sit and enjoy various cultural, social, yoga and religious activities even during winter / rainy season, as the shed is fully covered and the amenities have been provided by the D.D.A.

The other dignatories were Shri Yoga Nand Shastri, Minister, Delhi Govt., Shri A.K. Sarin, Engineer Member, D.D.A., Shri Ashok Ahuja, M.L.A., Mrs. Kiran walia, M.L.A and Shri Shailendra Singh Monty, Councillor, M.C.D, and President of Safdar Jung Enclave Welfare Association along with a number of representatives of other R.W.As.

Shri J.R. Gupta, President of Council and non-official member, Delhi State Council for Senior Citizens thanked the chief guest Shri Ajay Maken and told that the Senior Citizens of the adjoining areas would be benefited by participating in the daily activities in the morning and also in the evening and they will interact each other, and they would over come their lonliness due to their children settled abroad or out of Delhi.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest felicitated 5 students who scored more than 95% marks in 10th class CBSE Examination-2008. Exercise Books along with stationery items were also distributed amongst the MCD primary school students by the chief guest.

The Vasihist Bandhus of Mujaffar Nagar, U.P. recited Bhajans which were appreciated by the 800 Senior Citizens Present. Each were offered break fast and tea after concluding the function.
